Hey everybody,
We just wanted to send everyone a quick update to let you know that our camp in Kinston will be postponed until later in the spring. Kinston is expecting snow and ice tonight and tomorrow, and everything shuts down when it snows :) Although we are disappointed with the situation, we ultimately feel like this is best decision.
Please pray that we can set up a date soon to go to Kinston in the next couple months. We know that the Lord has a special plan for this camp and we are excited to see what His plans are moving forward!
Have a great weekend!

Approaching our first camp of 2010!
Hey everybody!
We can hardly believe that our first camp of 2010, in Kinston NC, is less than 8 days away! Wow! We can't wait to head down there, meet the kids, and watch our Sports That Serve team come together!
Here's a list of who will be running our basketball camp at Kinston High on January 30th:
The Kinston High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team
Kinston High School Varsity Coach Wells Gulledge
Former UNC Football Player & Kinston resident Tom Vermillion
Former UNC JV Basketball Player Claude Shields
We're really blessed to work with Coach Gulledge on this camp. He has been so generous and supportive of our ministry. He has even opened up an opportunity for the kids attending the camp to attend the Kinston High Varsity Boys' Basketball game for free the night after the camp, if they wear their Sports That Serve camp T-shirt! We are so excited to grow our partnership with their sports program and with the Kinston community. Pray that the Lord will bring excited kids from the Kinston community to learn, have fun, and interact with volunteers, and meet kids from different backgrounds.
Chick-Fil-A will be sponsoring our lunch and we will be bringing about 12 volunteers from the RDU area to help run the camp. The Perry Family has opened up their "Fun Farm" for us all to stay at the night before. Please pray for good fellowship, unity as a team of volunteers, and a rich time of prayer and preparation for the ministry we will be doing the next day.
We can't wait to see how the Lord will move at our first camp of the year! Thanks for your support and partnership in prayer for Sports That Serve.
If you have any questions or interest in our Kinston Camp (January 30, 2010), OR if you'd like to help sponsor a child from The Gate or Southeast Elementary to attend our camp, please email: info@sportsthatserve.org.

December Update and 2010!
Happy New Year from the Sports That Serve team! We hope you've all had a wonderful holiday break and are excited about what lies ahead in 2010.
We want to thank you all for your enthusiastic support in making our first STS Office Christmas Party a huge success! We couldn't have done it without you! We are excited to use the materials and supplies donated to work hard to the glory of God!
As we look forward into 2010, we are pumped for what the Lord has in store for Sports That Serve! We have 3 camps coming up this Spring (check out our Upcoming Events info box to the left) and we couldn't be more excited about each one of them. We've recently been talking to businesses in each community (Kinston, Charlotte, Raleigh) to see if they'd like to sponsor our camps and we've been overwhelmed by their responses! The Lord is really opening up some doors. For example, Chick-Fil-A will once again sponsor the camp lunch in Kinston on January 30th! We are also currently working on finishing up our tshirt design for our Spring 2010 camp tshirt and will be submitting that at the week's end.
Please email us (info@sportsthatserve.org) if you'd like to help out with any of our camps--all volunteers are welcome!
Also, if you'd like to be added to our blog update email listserv (i.e. everytime our blog is updated, it is emailed to your inbox), please email: nicolekeegan@sportsthatserve.org.
**Stay posted later in the week to meet our newest STS Intern!**
